RoseCity Quilter Treks in Iceland -Day Two July 26/15

We were all quit excited to be on the way for our first real day on the trail, and were all ready to leave by 9:00!

It was so amazing! Not a tree in sight! I kept thinking it looked like a painting, and could not figure out why until I realized it was because it was so still! Nothing moved!

Lunch was looking out at “Ugly Lake!” Such an ugly view!

We continued back towards our camp, totally in awe of where we were.

We just arrived back at the campsite when it started raining, hard! I was so glad we had a “kitchen tent” to gather in!

When the rain was over some tents were completely surrounded by water. We felt so bad for them, but so happy we choose high ground for ours. One of our groups tent was moved slightly after the rain started to avoid having a river run through it, but they got to it in time!

We put on 26000 steps and over 100 flights of stairs! It was a great day!
