This beautiful quilt was priced by Angele Duncan, and her workmanship was outstanding! The pattern is Misty Mountain Pond by Judy Neimeyer…..
Another quilt that I choose the designs for! Too fun…..
In the border, I quilted my swirly motif in the points, and a simple line pattern in the background…..
In the background I quilted a variety of my favourite vegetation fills….
Coming from each cattail, I quilted a dragonfly in metallic thread….
Also from each cattail, a fern was added….
In the flying geese, I added a simple swirl….
Around the perimeter of the cluster of New York Beauty blocks, I quilted this little frame…
This picture of the back shows this frame pretty good….
In the Center of the New York Beauty blocks, several variations on the same idea, a different variation for each background colour. The Center block I used metallic thread in the background to set it apart a little from the others….
And just a few more shots of the background….
The quilting does not show in the background a lot, but I did not want it too. The fabric has enough movement on its own, too much contrast in the quilting would have distracted from the beauty of the fabrics!
Another joy to work on!
Off to start the next one! So exciting! Did I mention lately that I LOVE what I do?
