My friend Susan Strong made this amazing version of Judy Neimeyer’s new pattern, Featherd Star! It is unlike any other feathered star I have ever seen. Done in Kona solids rather than the typical batiks, high contrast, and no borders! Susan asked me if I would do a joint project with her to enter in Quilt Com (Modern Quilt Guild Conference) in Austen this Feburary, she would make the top and I would quilt it. This is our entry…..
When Susn dropped the top off, I asked her if she had any requests, or was she just going to trust me. She answered that she did not want feathers, other than that it was my canvas. That was good, as I sure did not see feathers for it! My vision was a variety of designs all exploding from the Center…
Not too much detail in the very Center….
A different design in the different shades of grey, but the coloured parts are all the same design….
The background has echoed swirls in the corners….
And radiating design in the center points….
I missed a photo of the light teal area, I will add one as soon as I can get it. I did a ribbon candy in this area.
Detail picture of the light lime green….
I have been enjoying these modern quilts, they are very fun to work on! And as I may have mentioned before, I LOVE what I do!
Beautiful. Please let us know how you get on at Quilt Com.
Beautiful Ardelle. Just love all the quilting you have done.
This is one of my favourite quilts I’ve ever seen.
:). And you’ve seen a few!
